Mail service setup

This page explains the Tornevall mail service from a user's perspective.

What it supports

• sending mail through SMTP
• reading mail through IMAP or POP
• authenticated mail client access with TLS
• delivery routing and spam filtering behind the scenes

How to configure a mail client

Use the mailbox settings provided for your account or organization:

• incoming server
• outgoing server
• username
• password
• encryption type

If your client asks for advanced options, keep the values aligned with the settings you were given. The service may support more than one protocol, but the correct profile depends on the mailbox you are configuring.

What users should expect

• mail is handled by the Tornevall mail platform
• spam filtering and routing are managed automatically
• the mail service may support both inbound and outbound use for the same mailbox
